Joining the firm as a Vacation Student

During my stay at Deacons, partners and buddies are always ready to give a helping hand when I encountered difficulties, be it a trivial or material one; willing to give constructive feedback for my work, from which I acquired invaluable experience and knowledge; enabling interns to practically apply their skills in collaboration with lawyers, trainees and fellow interns. I actually feel like a valued member of the team.

I started off at Deacons as a vacation student – but this is just an umbrella term covering many more other roles during the internship. My placement with the firm is a truly intellectually-stimulating experience. Besides legal research tasks, I was encouraged to provide substantial inputs through discussion with lawyers on tactics and strategies. The holistic programme provides me with not just a taste of a lawyer’s life at Deacons, but also plenty of opportunities to interact with my fellow batchmates and buddies, and appreciate the importance of teamwork.
