Trade Mark Executive

Responsibilities

As a Trade Mark Executive, you will work as part of a team of lawyers and executives with extensive industry experience to provide commercial solutions to clients’ complex business issues.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with support and undertake trade mark administrative work, including but not limited to trade mark filings, publication and registration, renewals and maintenance, preparation and review of evidence of use, invoicing, notarisation and legalisation, preparation of fee quotations, recordal work and related matters
  • Draft pre-filing advice, reporting letters, and attend to client communications under the direction of the fee earners
  • Arrange / conduct trade mark searches on official Trade Marks Registers and carry out directed online research
  • Prepare quarterly and annual trade mark status reports
  • Maintain close working relationships and situational awareness across the team and group
  • Ensure that all templates and procedures used are up-to-date and coherent
  • Update electronic information and files to ensure all matters are tracked and processed correctly
  • Liaise and work cross-team to facilitate cross-functional projects
  • Be prepared to cover the duties of teammates during periods of absence or to reinforce specific teams during surge activity periods

Requirements

ESSENTIAL

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years relevant experience in legal or administrative support role
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to details
  • Strong communication skills (both written and spoken English and Chinese)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated, focused and strong team working skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) tools and ability to work online

DESIRABLE

  • Legal qualification would be highly advantageous
  • Experience in law firms
  • In-depth experience in trade mark prosecution, advisory, and drafting work strongly desired
  • Experience in a high profile administrative role, working with time critical deadlines, and holding organisational responsibilities
  • Good knowledge in recording chargeable time and preparing invoices
