Legal Secretary – Litigation and Dispute Resolution

A career in our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group will provide you with the opportunity to assist our team of highly professional and experienced lawyers, who provide an extensive range of legal and commercial services to local and international clients.

Responsibilities:

As a Secretary, you will work as part of a team of lawyers, secretaries and business support staff collaboratively, to perform all duties of a secretarial nature. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing a full spectrum of support to fee earners in administrative and secretarial matters
  • Maintaining and managing fee earner schedules and organising meetings and activities
  • Assisting in file and matter management of litigation cases handled by lawyers
  • Liaising with internal and external parties and assisting in managing client relationships
  • Handling legal documents, including preparation of legal correspondence, memoranda and court documents
  • Proofreading, formatting and checking for inconsistencies
  • Handling billing and the issuing and payment of invoices
  • Opening and maintaining files (mainly electronic) in compliance with the firm’s policies and practice
  • Maintaining and organising databases and resources, documents and files
  • Working effectively with other practice groups and business services departments
  • Performing other secretarial work and general support tasks as requested

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a law firm
  • Diploma holder of legal studies or equivalent is preferred
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is an added advantage
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), iManage and with strong document formatting skills
  • Attention to detail, organised and self-motivated
  • An exceptional team player, with strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
