Responsibilities

As an Associate, you will work as part of a team of lawyers with extensive industry experience, helping our clients to solve their complex business issues. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Handle a wide range of related contentious and non-contentious matters
• Manages China-related IP matters, with focus on advising on strategic issues in China relating to portfolio management, brand protection, copyright protection, domain name disputes, anti-counterfeiting, trade secrets protection and commercial exploitation of IP rights
• Conduct IP audits, negotiate and draft IP contracts
• Advise and manage litigation and administrative proceedings
• Perform client relationship management and knowledge management
• Work with the team to stay alert to the changing IP landscape in China and any updates in Chinese IP regulations

Requirements

• Solicitors from both Hong Kong and overseas jurisdictions with requisite legal skills are welcome
• Background or interests in technology sectors (fintech, digital and biotech) and/or China experiences would be an advantage
• Interests in and has an aptitude for issues such as cybersecurity and new technologies
• Excellent level of both written and spoken English, Chinese and Mandarin
• A motivated, proactive individual who has the ability to build and maintain client relationships
•  A client service driven approach to work
• Ability to work well both individually and in a team setting with strong communication skills and a high level of commercial awareness
