If you do not have access to technology, or the right setting to complete the online/virtual parts of the process, you can contact us at graduaterecruit@deacons.com and we will be happy to assist.

Here is what you need to know.

Stage 1: Application Form

  • Enter your personal details and experience
  • Read the instructions carefully
  • Explain why you have an interest in our firm and the value you can create for our business
  • Proofread your answers before submitting them

If you are shortlisted, we will let you know the arrangement of Stage 2: Assessment Day

Stage 2: Assessment Day

The assessment day includes a written work-based case study, language assessment and a career conversation. We want to explore different aspects of your abilities and how your personal strengths will fit at Deacons.

Stage 3: Panel Interview

The final stage of the assessment process is a panel interview with partners from the Graduate Recruitment Committee. In light of recent developments regarding Covid-19, panel interviews may take place virtually using video call technology.

You will take part in a short discussion and talk about your motivations for the role and your passion for law.

We will be in contact with you soon after to let you know if you are offered a training contract with us.

Stage 4: Offer

Congratulations! We’d like you to join us.

Stage 5: Pre-employment Checks

As part of our vetting process, we will conduct a pre-employment check on your academic results and job history.

Stage 6: Before You Join

We want you to feel supported and inclusive. Before you commence, you will receive updates from the graduate recruitment team regularly. We will invite you to attend events and orientation during which you will meet your fellow trainees and other people of the firm.
