It’s never too early to explore your career options. At Deacons, we are committed to giving back to society and investing in opportunities for the next generation. We understand the pressures on secondary school students to take decisions on university subjects, decisions made more challenging by a lack of first-hand knowledge of what is actually involved in choosing a career path.
We are proud to partner with the Academy for the Talented of the University of Hong Kong to offer the pre-law summer intensive programme “HKU Legal Academy for the Talented” for Secondary 4 or 5 / Grade 10 or 11 students.
Students who perform well in the final project / competition of the programme will be invited to join us for a three-day apprenticeship in the summer following your completion of the Legal Academy for the Talented of the University of Hong Kong.
You will get an overview into the different legal services Deacons offers, as well as giving participants the opportunity to take part in real legal tasks and to get a glimpse of life as a lawyer.
Under the guidance of a mentor, you will spend time in one of our practice areas and make meaningful contributions. You will also immerse yourself in structured courses on practical skills such as resume writing, interview skills, networking skills and presentations under the guidance of top professionals, developing the core business skills essential to your future career success. It’s never too early to explore your career opportunities.
Following the programme, you will continue to be part of this close-knitted network. You can still connect with your mentor and students of your own cohort to share ideas, thoughts and achievements. To strengthen your network, you will be invited to meet Deacons alumni from your chosen university after your public examination.
